Privacy Policy

GamingList (“we”, “us”) is a community platform for cataloging, rating, and sharing video games. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. If you have questions, reach us through our contact page.

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account data: your email address, username, and password (passwords are encrypted by our authentication provider — we never see or store them in plain text).
• Profile data: anything you choose to add — bio, avatar, favorite genres, console, and publisher.
• Your game lists & reviews: the games you add, your statuses, scores, hours, and written reviews.
• Connected account data: Steam, Xbox, PlayStation or Discord identifiers you choose to connect, used for imports, achievements, profile badges, and connection status. We never receive your platform passwords.
• Support messages: the name, email, and message you submit through the contact form.
• Payment and subscription data: limited billing identifiers and subscription status from Stripe for website purchases, and from RevenueCat, Apple, or Google for native app purchases. We do not store full card numbers or app-store payment credentials.
• Anti-abuse data: when you sign up, log in, or reset your password, our CAPTCHA provider (Cloudflare Turnstile) processes limited technical signals to confirm you're a real person and not a bot.
• Technical, analytics, and advertising data: essential cookies needed to keep you logged in, and — only with your consent where required — analytics cookies (Google Analytics, loaded via Google Tag Manager) that help us understand aggregate usage. The mobile app may request ad consent and show ads through Google AdMob unless you have Premium. See our Cookie Policy for details and to manage your choices.

• To create and maintain your account and profile.
• To display your game lists and reviews, and to calculate community scores.
• To import and display your connected platform libraries or achievements when you ask us to.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To process Premium subscriptions, activate or remove Premium access, restore purchases, and handle billing support.
• To measure aggregate, anonymous usage (only with your consent) so we can improve the site.
• To show, limit, or remove ads depending on your consent choices and Premium status.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that make GamingList work:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — hosts and serves the website.
• Resend — delivers our emails (account confirmations, password resets, and support replies).
• Cloudflare — provides the Turnstile CAPTCHA that protects sign-up and login from bots.
• Google (Analytics & Tag Manager) — measures aggregate, anonymous site usage; only active after you consent.
• Google AdMob — serves and measures ads in the mobile app, subject to your consent choices and Premium status.
• Clickio — manages your cookie-consent choices.
• IGDB / Twitch — provides game data and live-stream info (we send game identifiers, not your personal data).
• Steam (Valve), Xbox, PlayStation, and Discord — only when you connect or verify those accounts.
• Stripe — processes website Premium checkout and billing portal access.
• RevenueCat, Apple, and Google Play — process native app subscriptions, receipts, purchase restoration, and subscription status.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country. We rely on their standard safeguards for such transfers.

If your profile is set to public, your username, profile details, game list, and reviews are visible to anyone. You can make your profile private at any time from your profile settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can edit most data directly in your profile, or contact us to request deletion of your account and associated data.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except where we must retain limited information for legal or security reasons.

GamingList is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
