Who we are

GamingList (“we”, “us”) is a community platform for cataloging, rating, and sharing video games. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. If you have questions, reach us through our support page.

Data we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

  • Account data: your email address, username, and password (passwords are encrypted by our authentication provider — we never see or store them in plain text).
  • Profile data: anything you choose to add — bio, avatar, favorite genres, console, and publisher.
  • Your game lists & reviews: the games you add, your statuses, scores, hours, and written reviews.
  • Steam data (only if you connect Steam): your public SteamID and the list of games you own, used to import your library. We never receive your Steam password — Steam handles that login entirely.
  • Support messages: the name, email, and message you submit through the contact form.
  • Technical data: essential cookies needed to keep you logged in. We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use your data

  • To create and maintain your account and profile.
  • To display your game lists and reviews, and to calculate community scores.
  • To import and display your Steam library when you connect it.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that make GamingList work:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
  • IGDB / Twitch — provides game data and live-stream info (we send game identifiers, not your personal data).
  • Steam (Valve) — only when you connect Steam, to read your public game library.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country. We rely on their standard safeguards for such transfers.

Public information

If your profile is set to public, your username, profile details, game list, and reviews are visible to anyone. You can make your profile private at any time from your profile settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can edit most data directly in your profile, or contact us to request deletion of your account and associated data.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except where we must retain limited information for legal or security reasons.

Children

GamingList is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
