About

Patronage is an unofficial, custom expansion for Race for the Galaxy, which adds 72 new cards and five Agendas (see below). Designed to be a standalone expansion to the core game, Patronage introduces an Agenda system that will force players to reconsider their strategy, in a similar manner to Goals or Prestige from the original expansion arc. At the start of each game, two Agendas are chosen at random and stocked with a variable number of Favor tokens (based on the number of players), which are equivalent to victory points. Players earn these Favor tokens by playing cards which match the Agenda key (e.g, Rebel worlds, or Alien cards). When no more tokens remain, the Agenda activates, allowing players to spend any accumulated Favor tokens for unique benefits. In addition to the Agenda system, Patronage includes a handful of unique mechanics, including peaceful worlds which can only be settled with a negative total military, powers that let you spend VP chips, and a number of "Intel" powers which grant benefits based on your opponent's tableau and action selection.
