About

The Battles of Herdonia, 212 & 210 BC, is GMT's Battle Scenario for SPQR, published in RBM's C3i Magazine Nr. 20. After Cannae, most Roman generals accepted the wisdom of Fabius the 'Delayor'; against Hannibal, discretion was definitely the better part of valor. Fortunately for the historical wargaming community, two generals were foolish enough to accept Hannibal's challenge, both names Fulvius, and both on the field before Herdonia. As had occured at Cannae, both these armies were also envelopped and annihilated. Unlike Cannae, at the Herdonia battles Rome fielded only two, not eight, legions. So here is an opportunity to fight Cannae-Lite, two classic battles of envelopment, scaled down to one-quarter of Cannae's monumental size. Contents: Herdonia Setup Card. 21 new counters. Expansion module for the Great Battles of History (GBoH) series game SPQR. —description from the publisher
