About

Unofficial variant, tested and approved by the author The gates allow you to leave the city. Each side of the city must have an opening which is indicated either by the free space separating the walls originating from either corner tower, or by a gate placed by a player which indicates the limit for placing walls. During their turn, a player can choose to place a gate as one of their actions, respecting the following conditions: The gate must be placed adjacent to a wall; it cannot be placed directly adjacent to a tower. The gate must either be placed next to an empty space on the board, or next to one occupied by a merchant. Only one gate can be placed on each side of the city. Consequences of placing a gate The gate stops the construction of the wall against which it is placed, so the wall originating from the same corner tower can't be extended beyond the gate. The wall coming from the opposite corner tower on the same side of the city can continue to be lengthened until it eventually reaches the gate. A building or a stable can't be built against a gate. However, a merchant can be placed next to a gate. Complete rules in english and french are in the links
