About

Promo card Ekskalibur published by Portal Games in 2015. Description: He who holds Excalibur in his hands has extraordinary power. Power over Evil and Good. He should use it with great caution and prudence, lest he accidentally strengthen the forces of Evil. Excalibur can be added to Avalon as an additional player ability. Excalibur gives a Fellowship member the ability to change the outcome of a Mission by swapping a Mission card played by another player. When choosing a Fellowship, the Leader gives one player not only the Fellowship token, but also Excalibur . The Leader cannot give Excalibur to himself. During the Mission Phase, the Fellowship members secretly decide whether to support or sabotage and lay out the appropriate Mission cards face down in front of them. Before the cards are gathered and shuffled, the player with Excalibur may order one of the Fellowship members to swap a played card. After the cards are swapped, the player with Excalibur looks at the card he ordered to be withdrawn (i.e. the original card he ordered to be swapped). This will let him know the player's choice and whether his decision benefited or harmed the Mission. The Leader then collects and shuffles the played cards as normal before they are revealed. Example: Tadeusz, who is the Leader, chooses Agnieszka for the Team. He believes that Agnieszka is on the same side as him and gives her Excalibur. He adds himself and Kamil to the Team. After all players have accepted the Team, Tadeusz, Agnieszka and Kamil choose Mission cards. Agnieszka decides to use Excalibur and tells Kamil to switch the card he played. Agnieszka looks at the card originally played by Kamil (Success) and sees that her decision was wrong and led to the Mission's failure. The Leader collects and shuffles the played Mission cards, and it turns out that there are 2 Successes and 1 Failure among them. Intrigue Cards from The Resistance and Excalibur In Avalon: King Arthur's Knights, players may use Intrigue cards from Resistance . In such cases, Excalibur's ability should be used before I've Got My Eyes on You is played. Additionally, Excalibur cannot be used to change a Mission card that has been openly played as a result of an Under Watch card.
